The nostrils are attached to a part of the brain called the limbic system. The limbic system controls emotions and influences the nervous system and hormones. When you inhale massage essential oils molecules the messages are transmitted to the limbic system and affect heart rate, stress level, blood pressure, breathing, memory, digestion, and the immune system. Massage Essential Oils are also believed to be absorbed through the skin to further enhance their effect.
Each Massage Essential Oil has different healing properties. For example, some will calm while others can energize. At Lemongrass House Massage only the best aromatherapy oils are used. Here are some of the varieties of aromatherapy oils used at Lemongrass House Massage and their properties:
Calming – chamomile, lavender, geranium
Uplifting – ylang ylang, clary sage, rose, neroli
Energizing – rosemary
Cleansing – rosemary
De-congesting – eucalyptus, pine, tea tree
After consultation, one or more Massage Essential Oils are selected based on what you need and are mixed in with the massage oil or lotion.
The subtle aroma of the Massage Essential Oil fills the air around you during the massage. Additionally Massage Essential Oils will be placed in oil dispensers to further enhance the aroma and effect.
